Tom Dickinson

F

or xxx years, Tom was a biology professor at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops. He has also been a long-time supporter of Wells Gray Park, whether through his involvement with the Friends of Wells Gray Park, his effective advocacy for the southward extension of Wells Gray in 1996 or serving as a member of the Upper Clearwater Referral Group. Beginning in the early 1990s, Tom and a small group of other people (including Nancy Flood, Trevor Goward and later Lyn Baldwin) worked tirelessly toward the establishment of the Wells Gray Education and Research Centre, which finally opened its doors to the public in 2020 xxx. More than that, it seems fair to say the Centre would probably not now exist without Tom’s efforts over many decades.
